These are faux finishes... frosted stripe techniques to add interest and/or to soften a stark environment. The celery green is in a small private dining area; the chocolate in the powder room.
Oh my, those stripes are magnificent. They really transform the spaces. I'm constantly amazed at what paint can do -- to create a mood, to alter the very appearance of height, width and overall space. Brilliant work.
